The Extra Mile

Why is that we only do enough to get by?

Another day is another opportunity to do something with meaning.

I was in a Walmart not that long ago. I had been praying all week that God would put someone in my path that I could be a help to. This lady passed me with her buggy while holding a little girl's hand. I felt like that was her. I walked up to her and smiled, "Excuse me ma'am, I don't mean to bother you but I felt like God wanted me to give you this money."

She looked at me with tears in her eyes and such disbelief, "Are you serious?"

I gave her a hug and told her God bless and walked away.

The thing is, it was only $20.

It wasn't a lottery win, but to that lady, it meant everything to her.

Why are we so selfish with everything?

We are always so considered with what gets us the most attention.

We are all guilty of getting in a rush of things and forgetting that people around us are in need of love and attention.

There's a clip of a video I saw, and this young man was walking down the street. He was smiling to every person that walked by, greeting them, asking how they were. You could tell he was kind, and caring. Then, it showed him walking into the hospital, getting his chemo for his cancer.

We have absolutely no idea what people are facing. Even the happiest people put on a good front to act like everything is okay. Be kind. People are hurting and searching for something that could just bring them a little joy. You can be that joy.

You would be amazed of how one little act of kindness can change someone's whole day. We are the light of Christ. Are you willing do what is needed?

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

- Ephesians 4:32
