"Just focus. It's not hard, just focus."
A line that I've heard so many times.
"If you just focus on what you're doing, you'll do fine."
But, the honest truth is, it is hard.
We are human. Flesh and bones, our minds were wired to wonder. It's difficult to control our focus.
Why?
Our spiritual mind might want to strive to focus on the heavenly things, but our flesh has it's own plans.
Focusing on what's important and what isn't. Drawing the line. It can be stressful.
We get so wrapped up on the things that we think need our attention more than God.
Laying down ourselves to The Lord isn't supposed to be a yearly, monthly, or weekly thing.
It should be a daily prayer.
Putting everything aside and humbling ourselves before God. Asking Him to lead and guide us.
Praying that He will help us see what's right in front of us, and not get distracted by the things that will pull us down.
Maybe it's some things you don't think are doing any harm.
Maybe it's some people that are slowly becoming more of a hindrance than a help.
Maybe it's some activities you are spending too much time on.
Anything can be an idol. Literally anything. If you're putting something over your time with God, it's your focus issue.
It's time to fight the real enemy. Your enemy is the one taking away that focus from the things that matter.
It might not even be the devil. Yes, the devil messes with things. But, what you're battling might be situations that are being caused by, well, no focus.
Focus is a big key to our prayer life.
Take a breath.
Grab your Bible.
Let's get back our focus.
