In the age that we live in we are overwhelmed with so much technology. Social media is taking up more time than most of our daily activities. It has painted a perfect little picture of how our lives are supposed to look.
Most of the time, we actually think we have to be just that perfect all of the time. We convince ourselves that our lives have to be "Instagram worthy".
But, if you haven't already learned, life simply doesn't work that way. God doesn't work that way.
Our idea of being "perfect" is so appealing to us, because it makes us feel like we have some control over situations.
When in reality we are just deceiving ourselves. We have no control. We are not perfect. But, here's the good news. It's okay not to be perfect. God made us imperfect for a reason. We have no control because if we did, we'd mess it up. We are only human.
But, isn't that a comfort? That someone that has so much more power than us, that created us, has control. He doesn't fail.
I've learned that social media is a great front to make everyone think that everything is just right. When the truth is everything is falling apart. It's a joke. It's this fake little world we have created, and we shame anyone if they aren't "picture perfect".
Shame on us. We should be uplifting to everyone we come in contact with (even social media).
We are all flawed, imperfectly perfect. But, thank the Lord we have Him to guide us every step of the way.
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doth good, and sinneth not. - Ecclesiastes 7:20
