The Show Must Go On

The spotlight on you.

The pressure of looking just right.

You have to say all the right things.

You have show everyone who you are, that you are worth their time.

If you don't, what will they say?

Will they think you're crazy?

What if they don't like you?

Being a young christian, there is this overwhelming bright light that shines on us. This light can sometimes bring us to make us act as if we are on a platform, performing.

Smiling, waving and just acting like you're on top of the world.

I'm so guilty of it. I put on a great act that everything in my life is just right, and that I'm just happy 24/7. Cause there's always that little voice saying, "But, what if they..."

There's a fear of being judged, by our family, friends, and even people we don't know.

So, we put on this show. Making people laugh & smile even when you're falling apart. Listening to everyone's problems, but never talking about your own.

I have 3 words to tell you how I feel about the whole thing.

It's NOT healthy.

Am I saying you should complain on social media? Absolutely not.

Some of you need to learn social media is a huge power that you can use to your advantage to help encourage people, instead of posting pictures of you crying just to get attention.

I am saying you should go to your pastor, role model, or best friend you know you can count on and tell them how you feel. Reach out. It's okay to not be okay.

The truth is, not everyone is going to love you.

Ouch, that hurt's even saying it.

Because there's something in all of us that just makes us want to be loved.

That's okay to feel that way.

You're putting on a show, and you expect applause.

Just don't be surprised when half the crowd doesn't clap.

Not everyone wants what's best for you. Not everyone cares.

But, the good news is... I know a man that does.

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. - 1 Chronicles 16:34
